Survey on the Ainu Policy Promotion Act
The Citizens' Alliance For The Examination of Ainu Policy conducted a survey of about 40 Ainu from Ainu Associations across Japan about the 2019 Ainu Policy Promotion Act, ahead of its amendment scheduled for 2024. According to the survey, most respondents felt that current Ainu policy lack provisions protecting their rights as Indigenous people, and that all Ainu Associations should be able to participate in the amendment process.
